Spreading Vision

As of today, 4.5 billion people around the world suffer from unprotected and uncorrected poor vision. Around 2.5 billion of them don’t have the correction—and access to the correction—they need. Sadly, 94% of people don’t realize this necessity.

2.5 New Vision Generation, or simply known as 2.5 NVG, creates good-quality, affordable glasses for everyone who needs their eyes corrected and protected.

Together with people in isolated areas around the world, 2.5 NVG brings awareness on the importance of vision health and improve access to vision care and protection around the world.

2.5 New Vision Generation X GRAB

2.5 New Vision Generation (2.5 NVG) and Grab, along with Jakarta Eye Center (JEC), began a free eye-screening initiative in late 2017 at Grab Driver Center in North Jakarta. The aim is to spread awareness to drivers on the importance of vision care.

Since 2013, 2.5 NVG has been looking for creative ways to reach people with limited access to vision care. For Grab, this is a great way to ensure the vision health of their drivers.

Free Eye Screening & Makeshift Cinema

In life, vision is everything. Good vision is even more so. It’s everyone’s birthright.

Working with locals, 2.5 New Vision Generation (2.5 NVG) held a free eye-screening event in rural Sibulan on Friday, December 1, 2017, wrapped in an entertainment (as well as educational) package.

The main purpose of this event is to spread awareness on the importance of checking eyes regularly and eye care
in general.

This event was a pilot, in the hope that it would serve as a comparing point for similar events in the future.
